For years, Chef Gary Sherwood has been the steady hand behind so many incredible meals. He’s cooked in some of the Twin Cities’ best restaurants, mentored young chefs, and earned the respect of everyone who’s worked beside him.
But like so many chefs, he’s spent much of his career bringing other people’s visions to life.
Beginning August 5, that changes.
Chef Brian Ingram is turning Salt & Flour over to Chef Gary because he believes every great chef deserves the chance to tell their own story.
Gary grew up as the youngest of five kids. Money was tight. Dinner wasn’t about fancy ingredients—it was about making what you had go a little further.
He’ll tell you he used to take a box of Hamburger Helper and turn it into what felt like magic.
That’s where this story begins.
Today, that same imagination is backed by years of experience, incredible technique, and a lifetime of cooking.
